West Elm Virtual Makeover

For those of you brought to my site by West Elm… Welcome!!! I do have to apologize to those who have visited my site in the past, as it’s been over a year since I wrote a post. I did want to cover the virtual makeover featured on Front and Main. Basically I was contacted by a client interested in my virtual makeover service. With this service I communicate with the client through email and by exchanging pictures and inspiration, then come up with a custom mood board as well as a shopping list and room layout. It gives you as the client the plan to create the room that you always wanted, at an affordable price. So my client presented me with her room:

She wanted to keep her existing furniture, but the rest of the room was a blank pallet. She showed me inspiration of rooms with blues, yellows and I came up with her design plan:

Brittany-Virtual-Makeover Through the magic of photoshop, I’m able to really give her a great idea of what her room could look like. The walls are a moody grey blue, and the pops of color come though in accessories and pillows. I do have to say my client in this makeover followed her design plan perfectly and when se contacted me to do some more tradition design services for her home (turns out she lives like 2 miles from me) I was able to see the room in person and was so pleased with how it turned out.

2 To update the dresser, I suggested to removed the existing matching mirror and replaced it with a mis-matched mirror and then off-center the mirror with a small art gallery. This engaged the entire wall and added personality.

The majority of the styling items, bedding and drapery are from West Elm the lamps and bench are target (although I’m not sure if they are still available) and paint color is Smokey Blue from Behr. This particular makeover really shows just how much paint and styling and accessories can add to a space.
